Synopsis

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

My Review

Let me just start off and say.. I freaking Loved this!
Vi has given us an awesome story that kept me hooked from the first moment I met Nico…..

Elle is going through the motions of life, living the good life yet still finds herself bored.
The guy she has been seeing for the last 2 years can't even excite her anymore.
Not sure where her life is going, Elle feels disconnected.

I'm a character in my story, going throughout the chapters of my life as if it was written by an imaginary person, when I should be the Author.

When she meets Nico, something changes. She feels like her life has come alive. Something about his eyes seems familiar. The undeniable chemistry between the two is first indication that they could be something great.

Nico is struggling with a past that covers him in guilt. He is fighting his demons, but Elle comes into his life and finally he can see light again.

When Nico tries to take back what he has lost, he finds himself not ready an in turn pushes Elle away, thinking that she could never understand.

"Elle, run while you have the chance. You can't fix me. I'm not some project for you to take on like charity. You're better off with someone who is more like you."

But Elle holds a dark secret that changes the whole game, will Nico let her in enough to see that she is Worth the Fight?

I don't know how or why, but I'm as certain of it as I've ever been of anything in my life. I'm in love with this man, and the realisation doesn't even scare me.

Worth The Fight is one of those books that just have to be read with no spoilers.
Don't get me wrong I want to tell you all about, tell you all the amazing lines I had highlighted in my Kindle. But the small pieces that you learn along the way, that give you a little more each time, is what keeps you hooked. You will definitely want to read this!

I loved Nico! Love him. He was Hard and Soft, Sexy and Sweet. I couldn't get enough of him.

"I've wanted to come inside of you so badly it hurts. Feel that clenching little pussy slide up and down my bare cock. I need in. Now."

The sexy times were SMOKING HOT!!!!!!

Their connection is done perfectly. It's not forced. While reading I felt it was so much more relatable as they have a certain maturity to them. I loved that!

He responds to my declaration with a kiss. Calling it a kiss just doesn't seem like enough, it's so much more. But there's no name for two people becoming so entangled in each other that they get lost. For wanting someone so badly that your body trembles waiting for more. So much more.

This is my second Vi Keeland read and she doesn't disappoint. Her writing hits the mark, and leaves you craving for more.
I Loved every second of this and really really really can't wait to see what's next!

She’s determined to succeed and that means keeping her focus on school and not guys. But her plan falls apart her first day on campus when Garret, a rich prep school boy with swimmer abs and a perfect smile, offers to help her move in.

Jade tries to push him away, but she can’t deny her attraction to him and Garret won’t let her. Things quickly heat up between them, but then come to a sudden halt when reality hits and Jade realizes that a relationship with Garret may never be possible. He comes from a world of wealth where there are rules, including rules about who he can date. And not following those rules has consequences.

As the two of them try to overcome the obstacles working to keep them apart, Jade is confronted with another challenge. On her 19th birthday, she receives a letter that her now deceased mother wrote years ago. In it are revelations that explain her traumatic childhood but also make her question the past she’s been running from.

Excerpt

As soon as I start running, I feel the calmness I was craving. I get lost in the repetition of my movement around the oval track and I lose all sense of time. After a while the sun is really hot and I realize that it’s probably way past noon. I take a break and sit at the side of the track, completely soaked in sweat.
“Have a good run?”
I turn to see Garret walking toward me in navy athletic shorts and a gray t-shirt. It looks like he’s been running, too, although he’s not nearly as sweaty as me.
“It was all right,” I say. “I don’t usually run on a track.”
“You should’ve come with me. I ran a couple miles around campus.”
I shake my head, sweat dripping off me like a wet dog. “That’s not far enough. I usually run 8 or 9 miles.”
He sits down next to me. As in right next to me. Can he not see how sweaty I am? I’m sure he can smell me from 10 feet away. I can’t even stand the smell of myself.
“Eight or 9 miles? You must be a serious runner. I’m a swimmer. I only run to improve my cardio for the pool. I do a couple miles at a normal pace and then I do sprints on the track.”
So that’s why he has that body. He’s a swimmer. That explains the broad shoulders and narrow waist V shape he’s got going on.
“Go ahead.” I point to the empty track. “It’s all yours.”
“Why don’t you do them with me?” he asks in a challenging tone. “Let’s race.”
I never turn down a challenge. Well, sometimes I do, but it’s rare. “I’m a distance runner, not a sprinter. But a distance runner can beat a swimmer any day. This should be easy.” I stand up, stretching my legs which are stiffening up after my short break.
“You think you can beat me, huh?” He stretches as well. “So what’s with the insults? You don’t like swimmers?”
I shrug. “Swimmers are okay. I just don’t think they have to work that hard. I mean, the water makes you basically weightless. It’s easy to go fast when you don’t have to drag your body weight around. You don’t get that benefit with running.”
His jaw basically drops to the ground. I’ve just insulted both him and something that’s near and dear to his heart. Apparently this has never happened to him before. Pretty boy must be used to only getting compliments.
“Are you shitting me? Did you just say swimmers don’t work hard?”
“Yeah, why?” For some reason, I’m really loving insulting this guy.
“Game on, Iowa girl. Get your ass in position.”
He sets himself up in lane one of the track. I take my sweet time walking over to lane two, yawning just for added effect.
“Do you need a head start?” I ask him, stretching my arms behind my back.
“Damn, you’re annoying.” He smiles when he says it. “We do one lap around. Ready? Three, two, one. Go!”
I take off down the lane, my eyes straight ahead pretending he’s not there. I quickly round the first end of the track and hit the straightaway. I imagine myself running far away from that place. Running back home and seeing Frank and Ryan again. I round the next end and keep running.
“Stop! We’re done!” I hear Garret’s voice and slow down, noticing that I’m already halfway through a second time around the track. I finish the loop and meet up with him again. He’s bent over, hands on his knees trying to catch his breath.
“Okay, I admit it. You’re fast,” he says, panting as sweat drips off his face.
“Fast? That was my normal pace.”
He glances up at me, trying to figure out if I’m kidding. Then he stands up straight and wipes the sweat off his forehead. “Remind me never to do that again.” He walks over to the edge of the track and gets his water bottle. “You should sign up for cross country or track. You’re really fast.”
“Nah. I ran cross country in high school. Now I just run when I’m stressed.” It’s true, but I wish I hadn’t said it. It makes me sound weak and I hate sounding weak, especially around a guy.

SYNOPSIS

Ever since her parents passed away in a tragic car accident, Eden Cross has been living a quiet, stable and predictable life in inner Sydney – the total opposite of her carefree, relaxed, happy-go-lucky past. Her parents passing and the fact she’s an only child meant Eden was left with her best friend, Jules and Matt, her boyfriend of three years as her only family. That was until she discovered something about Matt that would turn her life upside down. Eden leaves Sydney in a hurry and begins an adventure that takes her across four Australian states before she lands in Pine Creek, Northern Territory.

Jackson Henley has lived in Pine Creek his entire life. He runs a massive cattle and cropping station with his twin brother, Jeremy, which they inherited when their parents retired. He’s had a bad experience with relationships courtesy of The Bitch - Dannika, so lately he’s preferred to play the field. That is, until he comes face to face with the stunning brunette beauty who’s behind the bar at the Cow and Calf. The problem is, she won’t tell him her name, she won’t give him the time of day, and she won’t give him a chance to prove himself.

What’s it going to take for Eden to give Jackson a chance? Does he have the patience to even bother fighting for her? How will he handle the competition?

In the end, will Jackson have what it takes to convince Eden to start living again, instead of just existing?

Excerpt

“Hey, gorgeous, can I get another beer?” I turn my attention from the one-man show and spot Luke, the guy who was here yesterday, and he’s waving an empty glass at me.

“Sure thing,” I reply. I grab a glass and pull his beer, hand it to him, take his money and return his change.

“So, Dory’s put ya to work, has she?”

“Just helping her out for tonight,” I smile, then sweep my gaze along the bar checking that no one needs refills. It’s during this exercise that I spot the man who has just walked in. My breath gets caught in my throat as I watch him take a seat at the bar. I see his lips move and he’s smiling at people but it’s too loud to hear what he’s saying. I’m captivated. He’s utterly gorgeous. The epitome of Cowboy Hot. His hair is dark and his jaw is square. His body is built – broad across the shoulders and narrowing slightly at his hips. He spots someone across the bar and hands them a fully-fledged, bright white, straight-toothed smile. My breath leaves me in a whoosh, and then catches again as what has to be his twin slides onto the stool beside him. Oh my fucking god.

I’ve got a job to do. I have to pull it together. It’s not like I’ve never been in contact with good looking guys before. I worked in one of Sydney’s hottest bars for four years for fuck’s sake. I mentally slap myself across the face and tell myself to pull it together. Then I walk across to where they’re sitting and set about getting their order.

“What’ll it be, boys?” I ask in my most relaxed I’m-not-affected-by-you-at-all voice.

Hotty One unashamedly rakes his gaze over my body. Slowly. So slowly, I feel my blood start to heat – just from him looking at me. I must be going mad. Perhaps it’s the heat up here. I’m not used to it all. I really should have worn some linen shorts instead of jeans.

“You, later,” he winks suggestively when he finally pulls his eyes to mine. Now, don’t get me wrong – the wink was hot. Fucking hot. It was the way he said it that turned me off. You know those guys that can get anyone they want? Yeah, they’re not so bad. It’s the ones who can get anyone they want, and they know it, and they show it – that’s the turn off. Just with that line, Hotty One has shown me he’s a player, unfaithful, untrustworthy and most definitely not the kind of guy I want to get involved with – in bed, or out of. But, as a woman, I’d rather die than have him know how he affected me, so I tilt my head to the side, smile my cheeky smile and say, “Not tonight, handsome. Or ever. Drink?”

*I'm 29 years old

* I've been married to my husband Troy for 10 years and together we have 4 children - Zach, Jovi, Demi & Cruz.

* I live in a small country town in NSW, Australia

* I LOVE to read and write

* I LOVE to bake'

* I LOVE socializing

* My friends laugh at me because I will talk to anyone, anywhere. It's funny now but it wasn't so funny for my mum when she had to drag me away from strange homeless people at the train station when I was little, and I may or may not have been going to go in crop dusting plane with a man I'd just met when I was about 4!!

* I read fiction until I was 11 years old. After that I read non-fiction, true crime, bio's etc. When my son Jovi drowned in 2011, I found I couldn't bring myself to read non fiction anymore - it was too "real". Fifty Shades was dominating the media so I got myself a copy and I'm not ashamed to say I read all three of those books at least ten times each. They allowed me to forget my reality for a little while. Then I decided that I was going to follow my dreams and write. I wanted to show my children that just because their brother died, didn't mean they did or our family did. I want them to reach for the stars and chase their dreams, and the best way to do that is to lead by example!

Synopsis

Mercurial and charming, Tate Larson is a rising author and playboy who has a different woman on his arm every night of the week. Focused on his work, Tate has no plans to settle down any time soon. That is until he meets his pretty new assistant, Piper Donovan.

Desperate to escape the promise of backwater living, Piper ditched her Alabama hometown and never looked back. That was almost two years ago. Now that she is out of a job and her bank account is running on fumes, she’s desperate to find a job, fast. She finds the break she is searching for when she lands a position at Bookish Temptations. A little dancing and a lot of drinks with the girls seem the perfect way to celebrate. After a brief but explosive encounter with a man she was never supposed to see again turns out to be the same man she will be bending over backwards to please, her every instinct tells her to run. But when running means leaving the life she has struggled so hard to create, Piper decides her only option is to continue working for the devastatingly sexy Tate Larson...even if it kills her.

Unable to deny their growing attraction, they struggle to keep their distance in a relationship that requires anything but.

My Review

* This is the second book in the Night Calls Series, however can be read alone. After reading That First Kiss I will definitely read Stranded book # 1 in the series.

Getting her life on track is Piper Donovan main focus, for the last 2 years she has avoided going home, and now with funds low she is desperate. When she lands herself a new job at Bookish Temptations, she heads out with the girls for a celebration.
When she comes face to face with one sexy as hell man she finds herself letting all her inhibitions go and shares one explosive encounter in the bathroom.

The man had two perfect dimples that she had the urge to lick. She didn't , of course, because that would be creepy, but she could do whatever she wanted in her mind, and she was licking his face like it was the last creamsicle on the planet.

When she starts her new job a fews days later, she comes face to face with the man who had ripped her panties and had her bent over the bathroom counter.
She soon realises the man she shared that one time encounter with is vastly different to her new boss.

He fires her instantly, leaving Piper angry and desperate.
She decides she doesn't accept her firing and refuses to allow him to fire her.

Tate is an up and rising writer with trust issues and does not believe in love, and after being burned by his ex does not do commitment.
His short temper, bad communication skills and total Alpha ways are just some traits that make you fall in love with him.

Piper is strong and feisty. She doesn't let Tate walk over her. She sticks it to him at every chance she gets.

Their sexual tension is off the charts, Tate would rile her up.

"I could make you remember," he growled. "I could bend you over this table right now and take you from behind. Would you like that?"

 Then be a total D-bag..

She was stuck in a darkened corner while her boss and former one-night stand tried to hook up with anything with a pussy.

Piper is constatly frustrated.
Tate Larson inspires anger and irritation. He is rude and demanding and yet her body didn't get that memo. It just craved him.
When they do get together they are off the charts HOT

"So fucking tight. You made me come so hard. Let me inside, baby. Say yes and I will make you feel so good."

Tate has a dirty mouth, Oh god I love a dirty mouth….

"I want to wrap your tits around my dick and fuck the shit out of them until I come on your chest."

Ummm WOW that is a little hot!!!

But not everything is rosy and easy. There is a few miss understandings. Tate is reluctant.
What Tate was feeling for Piper wasn't something he could stop.

It was a poison that had entered his blood stream and ripped it's way through his body and he knew the exact moment that it happened: That first kiss.

Will Tate get over his commitment and trust issues? Or will he push Piper away for good?

I really enjoyed this. It was fun and sexy. So many laugh out loud moments. It wasn't heavy but kept me totally invested in Tate and Piper.
I loved Tate's Mum. She was awesome.
I loved the scene at the start with Piper's friends.
Loved the way they talked about sex hahaha had a  Sex and the City feel.
Sometimes when you read romance it can just get too serious. I loved how easy it was to love Tate and Piper. Will definitely be checking out more from J.C. Valentine.

Synopsis

Grace Hamilton was the girl with a plan. She knew exactly where her life was going and prided herself on always achieving her goals. It was who she was, and how she lived her life. She never stepped outside the lines, and never considered what she might desire and whom she was actually trying so hard to please. Until him…

Carson Stinger was a man who didn't play by any rules except his own. Working in the adult entertainment industry, he didn't care what others thought, and took each day as it came, no direction, no plan. He knew what women wanted from him and believed it was all he had to offer. Until her…

When circumstances forced them to spend several hours together, they walked away changed. But for two people who never should have meshed, overcoming the reality of their vastly different lives wasn't possible. At least not yet

My Review

*THIS IS A STAND-ALONE NOVEL. The first two books in the series need not be read to enjoy this book. However if you haven't read Leo, & Leo's Chance, I would highly recommend them. You can read my review's here;  Leo and Leo's Chance

Grace Hamilton has been pushing herself hard the last 5 years. Barely giving herself any time to breathe much less sit back and enjoy life.
Her life plan is on track, and she never strays from the plan. EVER.

Until she meets Carson Stinger…

Carson is sexy, demanding, self-assured and definitely knows how to push Grace's buttons. He also is a male Porn Star.

After getting stuck in the hotel lift they are both staying at for the weekend, the undeniable tension between them come to a head.

And suddenly we were kissing. Hard core, angry kissing, our hands everywhere, groping and grabbing. And Damn it if she didn't taste like sunshine and everything sweet and fresh this world had to offer.

They share a steamy sexy kiss and find themselves sharing things about themselves neither have admitted before.
When they finally get saved from their hell, Carson offers Grace one weekend of fun. To let go, embrace the passion between them.

Good Girl Grace, who craves structure and control, finds herself throwing everything into the wind for a weekend of wild sex, with a porn star.

And wild sex it was...

What starts out as sexual tension and electric chemistry. Very quickly becomes Intense, and emotional. Leaving them both very confused.

He was an enigma to me- stinging me one minute and then soothing me the next- with his words, his touch, his smile.

When their time comes to an end, they find themselves at a crossroads. Both inadvertently changed and not one thing either can do about it.

What happens next will blow your mind. Mia takes this story way beyond what you're expecting, leaving you totally hooked and addicted for more.

I'm not going to give anything away. Let me just say this.
WAS NOT EXPECtING IT to turn into that!

Stinger is a crazy ride.
I loved everything about this! Loved the laugh out loud moments.

Oh God, he was big. Really big. And I was rubbing on him like some crazed cat in heat. A crazed cat in heat that had gotten a hold of some crack. Or catnip… or whatever notched up the level of crazed cat in heat. That was me.

Meow!

And the references to Titanic. PMSL hahahhaa so funny

"Jack, Jack, don't ever let go… well, that is, unless I try once to pull you up on this two-person raft and can't do it. Then, God speed, human popsicle. It was fun while it lasted."

He seriously doesn't like Titanic.. hahaha

I loved Mia's description of the Bellagio. having just only stayed there this year, I was mesmerised by her attention to detail. It was superb.

I Loved every single response he gave about calling her buttercup, leaving me wanting my man to call me Buttercup.

"Why do you call me Buttercup?" I whispered sleepily.
"Maybe because your skin is as creamy as butter," he said and I could hear the smile in his voice.

I loved the guys from Trilogy.
I found myself thinking about the possibilities of where it could go, days after finishing.

I freaking LOVED the epilogue DAMN fine epilouge.
I can't wait to see if there is more, and when I am gonna get my hands on it!

Mia is on a roll, she has a natural story telling talent that draws you in. I've said it before, her writing makes you feel like you know her personally. (Which I don't) But I swear it feels personal, like she is giving a little of herself each time.
I loved it and can't wait for more.
Bravo Mia.

Sometimes you don't even realise anything is wrong until someone comes along and changes you, and makes you want more. In my case, it was a beautiful girl with a plan who shattered the world I thought I knew. And when I put the pieced back to together, they were all re-arranged, different; and so was I. Until her, I had never even considered the possibilities.

Leo (Sign of Love, #1)

"Why are you looking at me?"
"Because I like your face."

~Love is like a magnifying glass straight into the souls of those who own your heart.~

Thrown together in foster care Evie meets Leo.
Through the hardships of their childhood, a deep abiding friendship blossoms. Leo becomes her protector and as the years go by this special relationship develops into a beautiful and unwavering love.

~"I'm going to kiss you now, Evie, and when I do, it's going to mean that you're mine. I don't care how far away from each other we are. You. Are. Mine. I'll wait for you. And I want you to wait for me. Promise me you won't let anyone else touch you. Promise me you'll save yourself for me."~Leo

When Leo suddenly gets adopted, moving across the county, Evie, is left behind.
Leo Promises Evie that he will write her as soon as he gets there and he will come back for her when she turns 18.

description

~"It will only ever be you Evie.

It's the last thing he ever says to me. I never see Leo again.~

8 Years later Evie has made a life for herself.
Working 2 jobs, friends that are like the family she never had, she is happy enjoying her life, appreciating her fortune.

When a man by the name of Jake comes into her life claiming to know Leo, Evie is taken back to the mystery of what happened to Leo.

The story of Evie and Leo's past is revealed throughout the book. We are shown what they’ve been through with each other, but the reader is only given a small part of that through conversations and through flashbacks.

Jake is sent to check on Evie as a promise he made to Leo.
Evie and Jake have undeniable chemistry. And in such a short time, Evie is drawn to him.

~"When he laughs like that, I swear a piece of my soul, the part of me that keeps secrets even from myself, tries to lunge towards him, like his happiness is an visible pull to my own heart. It's crazy. I don't even know this guy. ~

Their relationship is smoking hot, Jake is one hot alpha male.
Bossy but not pushy. Totally sweet, totally hot.
The sex.. Omg hot hot hot hot hot!

~"Come for me, Evie," he growls. And just like that, my body tenses and I arch up off the couch, intense waves of ecstasy flowing through me. I cry out his name and hear his zipper and then he is flipping me over and his hands are on my hips as he drags me up so my ass is in the air and he plunges into my dripping sex on one loud moan. I'm not sure if it's his or mine or both. ~

But Jake has a past an insecurities that keeps him holding back from Evie. Inevitably the truth will always find its way.

description

And just when you think you’ve figured out what happened, you get smacked down with the brutal reality, and it is heartbreakingly tragic.

I was right all along in my suspicion of what Jake was hiding. But was totally thrown with the truth of it all. Wow didn't see that one coming.

Mia Sheridan is an amazing storyteller. Her writing has depth and sensitivity to it that goes beyond the words. It grabbed my attention and held it all the way through to the last word.
Her story made me feel that I know her personally. Not just Evie and Jake but Mia herself.
That's a little strange for me, I love it when I can connect to the characters and feel what they feel, and I did, but also found that when reading some things I would think, that's so Mia. LOL very crazy when I don't know her. Hahahaha

I Loved Loved loved the Epilogue.
I love me an epilogue and this was just perfect.
Leaving me with a tear escaping right as I read the last line.

~All along she stood there constant and calm.
"I can't make the fire go away, I can't guarantee you won't get burned. But I can hold this hoop for you, I can remain steady and strong, because I believe in you. Because you are mine."
And in the end, I had jumped. And the other side was just as glorious as her eyes had promised.~

description

Favorite lines

~"Because I like your face"~

~"I don't know if I'm ready for this huge jump in status," I tease "From stalker to chaperone in one day? You'll think I'm easy!"~

~If you're lucky, you might have a person who tells you a better story, one that takes up residence in your soul, speaking louder that the woeful tale you've convinced yourself of. If you let it speak loudly within your heart, it becomes your passion and your purpose. And this is a good thing, the best of things. because it is the very definition of love, nothing else. ~

My Review

This is the 2nd Instalment of the Breakneck series. Read my review of Book#1, Seize Me, HERE

This is a perfect example of when Authors should go with what their heart tells them to, not feel torn and never hold back… Ever!

When I opened my copy of Withstanding Me and read the note from Crystal, addressing the readers in regards to taking all advise, critiques and everything everyone had to say about 'Seize Me' on board, I was very intrigued.
What possibly could Spears do to make this book even better than the last?

It must be hard for an Author to take on what people are saying, about the hard work they put into their novel, and feel torn as to what to do for the next instalment.

So at the end of the day, Crystal chose to hold back.
She weighed up her options and took everything on board and in turn, Withstanding Me was created.

While reading Withstanding me, I could feel the difference in the writing. And as much as I hate to say it,  I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, some of you will probably love this more than Seize Me, I can easily see that happening.
But I wanted that darkness, I craved it. Spears blew my mind in Seize Me. It was pure genius and frankly not everyone can pull that off. Reading for me is about the emotions the Author can pull out of me, the ride they take me on, (whether I want to be on it or not) and how words, written on paper, can stir something inside of you that you didn't know existed. Whether you get that from stories about a billionaire with an obsession of Dominating, or a group of Bad Ass Crazy MoFo Bikers…. It's all about feeling what the Author has written.

Withstanding Me didn't pack the punch that Seize Me delivered. It needed that down and dirty, fucking craziness that I know Spears was just itching to get out.
But I still freaking loved it hard.....

I loved Storm, she kinda rock my world. She is one strong Heroine. Hit after hit she had dealt with some pretty horrible shit. But she pulled up her big girl pants and said Fuck You, I'm here I am alive.
I Loved her attitude.
ZZ was a mixed bag for me. I thought he was pretty funny. He was very much bad ass. Made no apologies for the way he spoke and acted.

~ When a man is upset and feeling down, he wants to be around pussy. Don't let any of them lie to you. ~

Zig Zag is not accustomed to hearing the word no, so Storm’s constant withstanding just draws him in deeper

Storm, a rescued sex slave, wants romance. The next time she gives herself to a man… it will be on her terms and not a one night stand. She wants more from ZZ, and is determined to win his heart.

“How much longer are you gonna keep withstanding me, darlin?” - ZZ
"Just until you fall in love with me," ~ Storm

But ZZ doesn't do love. He wants Storm, he wants to fuck her out of his system and move on.
As these two go back and forth and their friendship grows, the Club has it's own issues. The Russian's are still in the picture causing more drama. ZZ's daughter, Tatiana, is giving them trouble hanging with the wrong crowd.
Brothers are grieving, a few shocks and home truths come out.
Add in more Lockdowns, a Wedding, and a family reunion and you have yourself one crazy ride.

When ZZ and Storm finally give in to each other…. they are  perfect. So freaking HOT!

~   I grab Storm by the hair and drag her down, sticking my tongue in her ear. Her body shudders, goosebumps rising on her arms. Yeah, baby.

"Tonight… my cock in your mouth."
She moans low. "Tonight.. you're fucking my mouth."  ~

But more drama entails. The punches keep on coming, and Storm just blows my mind with her badass attitude. Shit got a little Cray Cray....

~  " WHAT THE FUCK WHERE YOU THINKING….

GOING AROUND SAVING EVERYONE BUT YOUR FUCKING SELF!"  ~

Total badass!

And ZZ finally won my heart and had me swooning.

~  "I fuckin love you, Storm. I fuckin love you hard baby. Deal with it…

You took me, a man that didn't love, and you owned me Storm. You fuckin own me! ~

Spears has created this world where you become addicted to the family they are. She takes you out of your comfort zone and makes you feel apart of the life of the MC.
Books like Spears,' Breakneck Series, need to be treated with the respect they deserve. You are warned going into these books that what you are about to read is not pretty, It deals with situations that you most probably never been in. Thats the whole idea of reading something that can push those buttons. I just hope the next in the series continues down the darker path.

Bloodshed… Secrets… Betrayal… Trauma… Welcome back to the Breakneck world.

⇝ My Review

WOW!
Kate McCarthy is on fire...
Only 2 Books in, and McCarthy's Alpha Males are in the league of  my all time fav, Queen of the Alpha, K.A.
Where others fail to come close, McCarthy stands out and leaves you craving for more.

This is the Second Book in the Give Me Series. Read my review of book #1 Give Me Love HERE

Four years ago, Quinn, had her small amount of happiness ripped from her. All her life she has lived through pain and ugliness, but that one moment when her light was taken from her, she didn't think she could move on.

"He broke me. He took every piece of me I had left, and he smashed it apart. Nothing fits properly any more…"

With the help of her best friend, Lucy, Quinn has slowly rebuilt her life. She has just landed a job as an assistant to Jamieson's band Manager, Mac.
With her work life in order, Lucy tries to get her out to the possibility of dating again.
When she heads out for a night of drinking, she locks eyes with Travis Valentine. Surrounded by beautiful women, Quinn thinks she doesn't stand a chance. But Quinn has caught the eye of Travis. And after a really awkward introduction, finds herself going home for a wild night of passion.

When Quinn wakes in the morning, she flees. She believes this beautiful man is too good for her. Her attraction is way too intense. She had never experienced anything like it before.

~ The man pushed every single button I had. Well. I only had the one, be he'd pushed it enough so that when I went off the edge, I didn't just fall. I took a soaring dive of toe curling, throat baring pleasure. ~

But Quinn is in for an all mighty surprise when she realises Travis is the brother to her new boss. Her one night stand just got complicated.

Travis can't believe his eyes when he meets the new assistant manager to Jamieson. He woke up and the beautiful woman that captured his attention, ran. After a few little misunderstandings, Travis wants more. But Quinn doesn't want apart in it. She is too broken. Her past comes out and she tells him she can't be what he needs.

"Whats here," I waved a hand at my face, "doesn't matter because that's not what I see. I see what's in here…" I thumped a hand against my chest, "… and what's in here is ugly, and I live with it every day."

Travis respects her wishes but keeps close, he helps her through her insecurities, building their friendship.

"Life is hard Quinn, and the hardest part is being yourself in a world of people trying to make you someone you're not."

Their friendship grows, her self confidence grows as well as their intense attraction. Travis deals with his own darkness and can't pull away from the one thing that makes it right. They both feel the pull. They both feel their needs.

description

She fights it, but he won't let her anymore. There is no match for a Sexy Bossy Alpha Male.
He has her questioning if it's such a bad thing for them to have each other?
Can they be what each other needs?

Travis reached out and squeezed my hand, and for some reason he may well have just moved heaven and earth. I wasn't whole, I wasn't sure I ever would be, but Travis made me realise that no one ever really was.

Travis is so hot! OMG like LOVED him hot. He was just the right amount of amazing. Swoon worthy!

"I saw you standing apart from everything that was the same, and that was beautiful, not sad.

When I was holding you and inside of you, I watched your eyes come alive, and fuck spring because you were hotter than summer."

The sex? WOW soo good. Kate is a master..

BUT this time, for me, it was Travis and his sweetness that got me. I fell in love with him every time he opens his mouth.

"I watched you. From the moment you walked in that bar, I saw you. Amongst all the shallow and the fake, you looked like spring, and then you got close and I was right because you smelled like jasmine. When you turned around to leave I thought I was wrong because why did someone as sweet as spring think that life wasn't meant for her? There was no light in your eyes, and somehow, even though I barely knew you, it left an ache in my chest. How could I let you walk away?"

The whole gang is back, and I loved every single one of them.
I loved lucy!! seriously her and Mac… THE BEST and everyone else. They are so fun!
The chicks in this series are seriously Sassy, Witty and Hilarious…

When Quinn's past resurfaces, she does the only thing she knows best.. Runs. (well tries to..)
Instead of reaching out for help, Quinn pushes Travis away. But as the events unfold, she finds herself in a mission to shake these crazy/ hilarious people that she now calls family.
But most of all she finds herself questioning everything they had.
Will she find the strength within herself to fight for her future. And can she fight, not only for herself, but what she has with Travis?

"Some of us have to learn how to save ourselves.."

I freaking loved this!
Kate is a new favourite of mine, she hits it out of the park with this one. I loved the secondary cast, I love her Bad Ass Men and her Sassy Women, I COULD NOT get enough.
Her ability to draw you in alone will have you adding her straight to your will read anything she writes list.
But what did it for me...

The Epilogue..

OH
MY
GOD..

Love me an epilogue!!  LOVED IT..

McCarthy's writing is intense, suspenseful, sexy and so much fun. It ticks every box and I can't wait to get my hands on more. MORE I tell you.
Casey….. Holy sex on a stick… I Want him right now! Travis was a bag full of surprises with his sexy Alpha ways, but Casey… OH god Casey, is gonna be good… (Fans myself) You will want to get on board this sexy train ladies.
