Synopsis

When Nick McCoy first met Piper, he was lost and nursing a broken heart; so when she offers him a no-strings attached relationship, he is eager to accept. What he first thinks of as good arrangement, turns into something so much bigger. Something that could change his life forever.

For Piper love doesn't exist. She spends her time running her business and only entering into casual relationships. She never stays with one man long, and so far that has worked for her. When Nick comes along, he shows her something different; he shows her that things can't always be simple. And maybe, just maybe, love does exist after all.

My Review

At the start of, A Wedding Affair you read how Nick got his heart hopeful and then crushed just within the first few pages.  Poor guy definitely wears his heart on his sleeve and right from the start I knew he was going to be a incredibly sweet guy in this story.

"I stand back and look at the woman in front of me.  Everything I ever wanted to find is wrapped up inside her, and now I just have to be patient.  In my heart I know that one day we will be together." - Nick

Unfortunately for Nick that woman doesn't believe the same about him and Nick is devastated and doesn't quite know what to do.

"I know that today is the day my dreams die.  Today is the day I watch the woman I love marry someone else." - Nick

At this wedding, Nick meets Piper for only the second in a few days and Piper is not your average woman. Piper doesn't believe in love and only has casual sexual relationships and gets out before they get too close to her.  Piper is dying to know what is under Nick's suit so she comes on to him very strongly and Nick finds that very attractive and can't say no to the very sexy Piper.

"But my thoughts are so delicious, especially the one I'm having of us naked in front of all these people.

Naked, and sweaty, and connected." - Piper

Nick and Piper decide on a casual relationship, but it's not long before the lines start getting blurred and they both start to realize they may have fallen for each other.

Piper is set on not entering a relationship with Nick while Nick doesn't understand why Piper is pushing him away and he is hurt she doesn't want him.

A tragic event gets everyone together but Nick has gone to his home town to get away for a few days and Piper is left to dwell on her problems and the tragic event that happened.  Piper has some hard decisions to make and she knows if she wants to make things work with Nick she needs to get him to forgive her first.

As Piper finds Nick in his home town and pours her heart out to him he is left in shock and frozen and is unable to show her or act how Piper hopes he would have, Piper then leaves to head home, alone...

Piper is crushed that Nick doesn't come after her and doesn't know what to do.

If you want to find out how it ends you will have to read it ;)

This story does have a HEA!

Why I gave this story 3 stars... This was a very sweet, heartwarming story that did have me a bit teary at times.  I have not read the previous two stories but that was okay I didn't ever feel out of the loop because of that. This is different to most stories that are out these days, where usually you have the male being the one only looking for a casual relationship this time you have a woman and I loved that Piper was forward and knew what she wanted when it came to sex and just wanting a casual relationship.  But I struggled to connect with Nick, he was very sweet, but for me, too sweet and too nice.  I would have liked to feel more emotion from him, some strong, deep down angry or powerful possessiveness emotions towards Piper. But I just felt like their relationship was cute and sweet. I also didn't really understand some parts in the story such as a prank Conner played on Piper and Nick and I struggled to feel for the characters of this story I was reading their story but I wasn't feeling for them.

I did enjoy this story and would recommend to anyone who is looking for a sweet story about two people who overcome their past hurts to find love with each other.
