My Review

Walking in on your fiancé doing the dirty deed with your boss is bound to cause some drama. And drama it does…so much in fact that Bleu lands herself in jail and then finds herself with a job.

With nowhere else to go and no job to go back to, she finds herself on her brother’s doorstep looking for a place to stay. He is happy to help. As her twin, hey have always been very close, sharing everything and sticking up for one another no matter what.

But after some time, when her brother starts acting different and pushing her away, she knows something is wrong. But he will not confide in her, in fact he is downright mean to her and kicks her out of his house and takes off to places unknown leaving everyone worried and wondering what happened to him.

With nowhere to go…she ends up staying with Jack. Jack is her brother’s business partner, friend and coworker at the tattoo shop (where Bleu also works). He is sweet and feels something for Bleu that he hasn’t felt in a very long time.

But Bleu just came out of one horrible relationship and doesn’t know if she can handle being in another. But Jack isn’t giving up and promises to wait for her for as long as she needs. All he is asking for is a chance. Will Bleu be able to open herself up completely and finally give herself to someone in a way she never has?

The story between Jack and Bleu is a mild yet sweet romance. I loved how the interacted with each other but I felt their relationship was missing something. They were pretty happy together but Bleu’s refusal to be honest with him about her feelings threatens their relationship.

I could understand Jacks feelings…to a point but not nearly enough to cause the damage it did.

The majority of the book was Bleu and others trying to figure out what happened to her brother and trying to figure out what could have happened over the last few months that had sent him in a downward spiral.

Axel (the brother), is in some deep trouble and I don’t want to give anything away with the details but I will say that I found his entire situation a bit confusing. It was a great storyline but I found some of the details off or didn’t add up creating a bunch of unnecessary complications.

I also think Bleu repeated herself too much in the book. We would hear the same story every time she explained it to someone new. I just felt it was too repetitive.

Note: This was a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review so I’m not sure if it was a final edited version or not. The copy I received did have many punctuation/spelling errors as well as missing words in it. But like I said, I’m not sure if they were fixed before the publishing or not.

Overall, the storyline was good and I always love a tattooed hottie and this book is filled with them. The next book in the series will follow Aaron, Bleu’s dad who just got out of prison. I really liked him in this book so I’ll be adding his book to my TBR.

About the Author

M.A. Stone has been writing and making up stories ever since she was a little girl and she got her Sesame Street coloring books taken away for filling them with dirty words. She was born and raised in Upstate NY(which oddly makes her sound like she is from Wisconsin)and has moved around all over the east coast. She currently lives in South Central PA with her amazingly sarcastic husband and her four incredibly entertaining children. Oh and her dog who weighs over 90 pounds, but thinks she is a Shi Tzu.
