My Review
First things first lets just all take a moment to appreciate that hot ass cover!
Destry is my first Lola Stark read and let me just say I'm definetly a fan! I cannot wait to read more from this author.
Destry is the story of Amelia, a 28 year old women who is living a life her family is forcing upon her. Then one day she finds her fiancé and her sister doing the nasty on her Egyptian cotton sheets! Now with an excuse to leave a life she wants no part of, Amelia heads for the open road in hopes of discovering herself and a life she controls.
Enter Destry...after hearing of a broken fence and an escaped cow Destry finds Amelia literally punching and screaming at his cow in the middle of the road in the middle of the night and her majorly damaged car off to the side.
So what's a well mannered cowboy to do in the middle of nowhere and in the middle of the night with a women in need? Why of course offer her a place to stay!
And stay she will for 2 weeks while her car is being fixed!
It's at this point that I honestly start really liking this book. From here we see Destry as a brooding male, trying to not be affected by Amelia and all the feelings she insights in him. And vice versa for Amelia. And let me tell you the sexual tension begins to build and it's palpable.
I really found that Destry and Amelia's chemistry just kept growing and growing, I would find myself laughing, smiling, even getting a bit teary and swooning all throughout this book.
There is just the perfect balance of sexual tension, need and angst and when they finally give in to each other it makes for some sexy scenes! I could have gone for a few more sex scenes with a bit more dirty talk, but overall it was still hot!
