Between the Bookends - “This was seriously one of the best student/teacher books I have read.

Remington Stringer has never been like most girls. She’s outspoken, brazen and wants nothing more than to escape the Nevadan hell hole that she calls home.

On the brink of eighteen, with a deceased mother and a well-meaning, yet absent father, she is forced to fend for herself. The only person she’s ever had to depend on is her borderline obsessive stepbrother, Ryan. But, what used to be her anchor is quickly becoming a loose cannon.

When Remi gets the opportunity to attend the best private school in the state during her senior year of high school, she jumps at the chance. Then she meets Mr. James. Ornery, aloof, and totally irresistible.

Most girls would swoon in secrecy.

Most girls would doodle his name with hearts in their notebook.

But Remi Stringer has never been like most girls.

Misbehaved is the first full length novel by the duo Charleigh Rose and I thoroughly enjoyed getting dirtied up by Mr. James. Remi and Pierce have an unconventional start but as their story unfolds, there is so much more to their connection than a debate teacher falling for his student. This story had depth and emotion and some really, really steamy scenes that we've come *hehe* to love from this author.

Remi is starting her senior year of high school in a new school. Trying to move beyond her bad neighborhood, her absentee father and crazier by the minute step-brother Ryan, Remi is determined to use this new private school as her start over. But her life isn't easy and meeting Mr. James makes it that much more convoluted. As the year progresses her life starts to spiral and she realizes that maybe this isn't any better than where she came from. And even though Pierce shouldn't want her, he's drawn to the girl that really isn't just a girl. Both have demons nipping at their heels that are closer than either could ever know.

I loved the "real life" quality that Remi's life had. She had a hard life but it wasn't over the top and I appreciated that she acknowledged that. She was strong and determined even when life wasn't going her way. Pierce was quiet and broody but right from the start he had the swoon factor that made me fall for him. Their relationship didn't happen over night and their struggles were believable and their connection undeniable. I read this in one sitting and rooted for these two and even for Ryan (which was one of my favorite plot points btw.) With so much steam my Kindle fogged up, I'm ready for Ms. Charleigh and Ms. Rose to give us more.
